Lightray announces the launch of the The Comeback website for acclaimed author Emma Gilbey Keller. The Comeback, explores the stories of 7 women who have gone from career to family and back again. Lightray was asked to create a book site that offered more then the standard necessary fair, but rather an interactive vehicle for sharing ideas, and connecting directly with the author.

Lightray announces the launch of GVFI.org, The Global Viral Forecasting Initiative. Founded by world renown scientist Nathan Wolfe, GVFI’s pioneering mission is to prevent future pandemics before they occur. The GVFI team maintains satellite laboratories around the world, monitoring hot spots where viruses are most likely to jump from animals to humans. Lightray was first approached to publicize the work of Dr. Wolfe and his team, by creating a brand, a website, helping to communicate their mission and raise funds and awareness for the work.
The initial and modest launch of wolfelab.org has since grown into a formidable organization, funded in part by the Google Foundation, Skoll, National Geographic, and the NIH. They’ve been featured in New York Times, The Economist, Wired, and CNN’s Planet in Peril to name a few.

Lightray launches book site for The Addiction Solution, a new groundbreaking book by David Kipper, MD, co-authored by Steven Whitney. The new book introduces a revolutionary scientific breakthrough in regards to Addiction treatment. Lightray launches website for the newly created Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. With City and State funds stretched thin, proactive Angelenos are taking it upon themselves to help fund our heroic first responders. The LAFDF is hitting the ground running, raising much needed funds to provide essential equipment, technology and training – helping to keep LAFD a world-class Fire Department.

Lightray was tapped to revamp their entire site, capturing the elegance and heritage that members experience each day. The new site includes both a public facing site, and a members only section with up-to date information on everything from social engagements to court availability.

Lightray launches a new site for Taylor De Cordoba Gallery in Culver City, showcasing their artists, shows, press, and underscoring their place on the bleeding edge of the Los Angeles art scene. The new site was designed on the WordPress platform giving gallery staff an easy and efficient way to keep it up-to-date themselves. Lightray’s focus was to create a simple sleek design that would not compete with the artwork. A clean white background was selected to present a modern and restrained look.
“When we started the project our designers studied the look, feel, and structure of many other Gallery websites.” says Jessica Thompson Lightray Creative Director. “We choose to make everything but the Taylor De Cordoba brand, and the artwork, understated, giving the site a gimmick free sophistication. From a programming side, we integrated gallery management applications into WordPress making it excessively easy for Gallerists to publish the work of new artists. So the back-end development was cost effective, and the result is a gorgeous and easy to update website”
